Engineering Officer (EOOW) - Roro, Passenger - 17th November 2026

We recruit on behalf of Western Ferries for Engineering Officers (EOOW) to join the technical team responsible for the Hunter’s Quay – McInroy’s Point ro-ro passenger ferry service. The role is permanent, office-based in Glasgow with the joining port at Hunter's Quay and a start date of 17th November 2026.

The package includes a basic salary of £41,000 per annum with expected total earnings of around £53,000 including built-in overtime. Employer pension contributions are 8%, annual leave entitlement is six weeks and paid sick leave is up to 12 weeks. The shift pattern is two weeks on and one week off, and crew return home every night so no overnight accommodation is required onboard.

Candidates must hold STCW EOOW certification, have completed their cadetship and possess valid STCW documentation. A UK work permit is required and candidates based on or near the Cowal Peninsula are preferred due to the daily disembarkation arrangements.
