Chief Engineer | Container Ship | in 5 days

We invite an experienced Chief Engineer to join our container vessel team. The ship is a year 2000-built container vessel of 66 278 GRT with a Sulzer 10RTA96C main engine rated 74 664 HP; the vessel is operated for a German shipowner with mixed nationalities aboard and crewing support from Latvia and Crewplanet. We will expect close coordination with the Technical Superintendent and a hands-on approach to technical readiness, maintenance planning, contractor supervision, cost control, procurement coordination, and technical reporting.

The assignment is a 4-month contract. Base salary is USD 9 200 to USD 9 700 per month with a seniority bonus applied monthly (after 2 years in rank +USD 100, 3 years +USD 300, 4+ years +USD 500) and a performance bonus of up to USD 750 per month subject to end-of-contract evaluation. Additional benefits include health insurance during the contract, paid travel to and from the vessel, onboard internet access, and shore-based technical and operational support.

Candidates must hold a valid STCW III/2 Chief Engineer certificate and have at least 24 months sea time as Chief Engineer on container vessels. We require proven competency in machinery operation and technical management, demonstrated team leadership, good communication skills, and familiarity with planned maintenance and budget control processes.
