Chief Engineer | General Cargo Vessel | in 6 weeks

We invite an experienced Chief Engineer to join a newbuilding general cargo vessel for the upcoming takeover. The vessel is a 2026 build of 16 800 GRT powered by a MAN B&W 8S35ME-C9 main engine (6 960 HP). Crewing is handled by Latvia and Crewplanet for a German shipowner and the ship will operate worldwide.

The assignment is a 4 month contract with sign-on in 6 weeks. The advertised salary range is USD 9 326 - 9 826 per month. The base salary is USD 7 906/month with seniority bonuses as follows: 2+ years in rank – USD 100; 3+ years – USD 300; 4+ years – USD 500. Benefits include health insurance during the contract, paid travel to and from the vessel, onboard internet access and access to in-house simulators for advanced technical training.

Candidates must hold valid STCW certification and documents and have at least 12 months experience as Chief Engineer. Experience on GC/BC/MPP vessels is highly preferred. EU candidates are preferred but this is not mandatory. Nationalities on board are mixed.
